What’s up!

Hi, my name is Christian Cueva and I am a senior designer with a background in architecture. I am passionate about designing for the built, natural, and digital realms with a focus in enhancing user experiences. My architectural background allows me to approach design with a unique sense of scale and detail, allowing me to combine my understanding of spatial thinking and user-centered approach to design anything from products to buildings and urban landscapes.

As a professional architect practicing for the past 5 years, my academic and professional work spans from a variety of scales. Projects vary from residential to master plans, domestic to international sites in South America, Europe, and Asia. In the U.S. I helped complete project phases from Schematic Design through Construction Documentation for residential houses, towers, facades, rooftops, parks, campuses, and waterfront projects in NYC, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Florida, NOLA, and LA all while keeping in mind and always designing for the user(s).

In addition to design, I am also an avid supporter of DEI efforts. I helped establish and ran a Summer Externship Program for three years, providing an introduction into landscape architecture. The program aimed to develop professional pathways for high school BIPOC and minority communities with limited access to architecture education through mentorships during and after the program. My design and diverse background allows me to understand people with different cultures and perspectives, helping me promote equitable and inclusive experiences.

As a designer, I have helped assist over the last decade and have won a series of awards in design, photography, and competitions in both academia and professionally. I hold a dual Master's in Architecture and Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, a Bachelor's in Architecture and Environmental Design from Morgan State University, an Associate's in Architecture Technology from Montgomery College, and have recently completed the Foundations of User Experience UX Design certificate from Google.
